Game of Thrones injects £43M into the Northern Ireland Economy

Home Box Office Emmy Award Winning Show “Game of Thrones” has pumped £43,000,000 into the Northern Ireland economy since filming the 1st and 2nd series of the show.  This came after an investment of £6,500,000 from Invest NI to help bring the Pilot, Series 1 and Series 2 to Northern Ireland, making the Return On Investment over 6 times the original investment.

The good news is that Game of Thrones has announced they will be filming a 3rd Series and that it will also be shot in Northern Ireland, and they aren’t just paying to use the Scenery.  Michelle Fairley from Coleraine stars as Catelyn Stark, Wife of Ned Stark (Sean Bean) who is one of the shows strongest female characters.
